Line-us will not connect to Windows 10 computer (Solid Blue)

I purchased a line-us recently and I cannot for the life of me get it to connect to my windows 10 computer. I can get it to connect to my android phone but it refuses to connect to my computer.

I put it in pairing mode, and my computer can connect to the line-us just fine, but when I select the wifi my computer is on, the app will flash green for a second saying “choose?” then say “Not Connected”, the machine itself stays solid blue. I disabled my ethernet and am on only wifi, i’ve tried to re-add the network multiple times, and even factory reset the device to no avail. I have scoured the forums today and have tried multiple suggestions like downloading Bonjour Print Services, and disabling my firewall but neither have worked for me. I also tried to connect it on my mobile hot-spot which to my surprise also didn’t work. Interestingly, even though it says that its not connected, I still get my daily drawing.

I have no idea what to do next and I primarily bought the machine for use on my PC in the first place. Help me Rob!!

Ensure both your computer and Line-us are on the same network band, as some devices have issues connecting across different bands. Ensure both your computer and Line-us are on the same network band, as some devices have issues connecting across different bands.

Check if network discovery is enabled in your Windows settings, as this can affect device connections. You might also want to check for any IP address conflicts by assigning a static IP to your Line-us and ensuring it doesn’t clash with other devices on your network.

Here’s a detailed step by step, troubleshooting guide to help you AuntPhyllis.

**Step 1:**Verify Network Compatibility
Wi-Fi Band Compatibility

The Line-us device only works on 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi networks. Check if your router broadcasts both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz.
If your PC is connected to a 5 GHz network, try switching it to the 2.4 GHz network.
Ensure the Wi-Fi network does not use WPA3 encryption, as it may not be compatible. Use WPA2 if available.
SSID Visibility

Make sure your Wi-Fi network’s SSID (name) is visible and not hidden. If hidden, temporarily make it visible during setup.

Step 2: Ensure Line-us App and Drivers Are Installed Correctly
Download the Latest Line-us App

Ensure you’re using the latest version of the Line-us app for Windows. Download it here.
Install Bonjour Services

Since Bonjour is required for discovery, verify it’s installed correctly.
Download Bonjour Print Services from Apple’s official website.
Check for Missing Drivers

Open Device Manager on your PC. Look for any devices with a yellow exclamation mark and update drivers if needed.

Step 3: Network Configuration
Disable Ethernet and Other Network Adapters

Keep only the Wi-Fi adapter enabled during setup.
To disable other adapters:
Press Windows + R, type ncpa.cpl, and press Enter.
Right-click on all non-Wi-Fi adapters and select “Disable.”
Turn Off VPN and Proxy Settings

Ensure no VPN or proxy is active, as these may interfere with the setup.
Verify Firewall and Antivirus Settings

Add an exception for the Line-us app in your firewall and antivirus software:
Go to Windows Security > Firewall & network protection > Allow an app through firewall.
Add the Line-us app if it’s not listed.
Temporarily disable antivirus software and try again.

Step 4: Line-us Device Setup
Factory Reset the Line-us Device

Hold the button on the back until the light flashes rapidly. Wait for the light to become solid blue, indicating pairing mode.
Reconnect to the Line-us Wi-Fi

Connect your PC to the Line-us Wi-Fi directly (e.g., Line-us-XXXX).
Open the Line-us app and select your home Wi-Fi network. Enter the correct password and ensure there are no typos.
Check the Line-us Light Status

Solid Blue: Line-us is in pairing mode.
Flashing Blue/Green: Line-us is connecting to Wi-Fi.
Solid Green: Successfully connected to the Wi-Fi.

Step 5: Advanced Troubleshooting
Use a Mobile Hotspot as an Intermediary

If the direct connection to your PC fails, try connecting the Line-us to a mobile hotspot on your phone.
Once connected, try switching back to your home Wi-Fi.
Access Line-us Diagnostics

Connect your PC to the Line-us Wi-Fi network and open a web browser.
to access the Line-us diagnostics page.
Check for error messages or logs indicating connection issues.
Update Firmware

If possible, update the firmware on the Line-us device. This can sometimes resolve compatibility problems.

Step 6: Verify with a Different Device
If none of the above works, test the setup process on another Windows 10 PC or laptop to rule out issues specific to your primary machine.

If the issue persists after these steps, it’s possible that:

There’s a hardware issue with the Line-us device.
Your router or network settings require further adjustments.
You can contact Line-us Support via their official help page for further assistance.
